Every painting I create carries a piece of me and Dancing in a Field of Feelings is no exception. In fact, it might be one of the most personal works I’ve ever made.
This piece was born out of a realisation: I needed to slow down. Not just in the practical sense of doing less, but in a deeper, more soulful way—to be gentler with myself, softer in how I moved through the world, and more connected to my feminine strength. I had been pushing, performing, and striving for so long that I’d forgotten how to simply be. Painting helped bring me back to that.
When I first started painting in late 2023, I was going through a really tough time. I was burnt out, emotionally drained, and feeling lost in ways I didn't know excisted. Painting became my lifeline to be present.

Dancing in a Field of Feelings came to life in the middle of that healing process. It captures the exact moment I allowed myself to feel again. It’s that rare, beautiful feeling of spinning around with your arms outstretched, no one watching, no one judging. Just you, the breeze, and the emotions swirling around you.
I think so many of us forget what it’s like to be fully present in our bodies and our emotions. We armor up, we perform, we numb. But this piece reminds me that there’s still space to feel it all and still choose joy.
This painting is a reminder that healing is never linear, but beauty grows from the messy, in-between parts too. I hope when people see it, they’re reminded of their own capacity to feel deeply and move freely through whatever season they’re in.
Thanks for taking a peek behind the canvas.
